Innovate. Create. Disrupt.

Student entrepreneurs in Chad Keister’s HU 4000 Entrepreneurship course recently held an Entrepreneurship Fair on the NCSSM-Durham campus.  The event, dubbed Innovate. Create. Disrupt., gave student startups an opportunity to showcase their ventures to the wider community, welcoming students, faculty, parents, alumni, and friends of the school.  Something of a mashup between a trade show and fair, the event featured the startups pitching their ventures, sharing the business model, and demonstrating a minimum viable product.  Guests in attendance voted on the startup with the most innovative product and most likely to turn a profit.  The fair is a culmination of semester one work by students in the course who embarked on a wide-ranging entrepreneurial journey.  Along the way, students explored value propositions, conducted extensive customer discovery and market research, designed smart business models, and engaged in high-end prototyping.
